MUKONO - MONDAY FEBRUARY 4th

Had better sleep last night, water seems to be sorted although flow to bathroom showers and kitchen not great. Washing machine is up and ready to go today and the power is ON so I have finally managed to catch up with most of the washing.
Bri very unwell today, laryngitis but Deane feeling bit better.
HOME DAY ALL DAY TODAY, I only stepped outside to sweep the verandah. Looking after Bri.
Zach dying to make bread, he did a great job too except that’s when we discovered that even tho we have an electric grill in the oven everything else is gas!! And no gas bottle so he trotted down to Danielle’s to bake the first loaf of rock salt and herb faccocia bread he had ever made
Deane went to SOS project meeting from 9.00am to 12.30pm came home for lunch and then he, Shannon, Zach and Sam headed off to look at purchasing vehicles.
Finally got cellphones and texting to NZ to work – not sure what it will cost but APPARENTLY it’s only costs UShillings 80 = NZ 6 cents per text for me
Internet still not working, much to Zach’s annoyance but Shannon’s isn’t working either so he is phoning them 2 hourly so hopefully that will get us all some action.
Bri high fever and bad cough again, not improved too much – last few days have been really hot and muggy.
Looked out my window this am and saw this bunch of guys dressed in a yellow uniform, apart from one man that was dressed in red uniform and gun over his arm – apparently they are prisoners here to clear off the jungle – I think I much prefer to see the monkeys swinging from tree to tree.
Amazing birds here – no spiders or cockroaches yet – only have the geckos running over the walls!!!
Well its 5.45pm and I still waiting for Deane and the boys to return with the gas bottle so I can start cooking dinner – may just have to be yummy pineapples (NZ.66cents each) and watermelon(NZ.80cents each) topped with fresh passion fruit for dinner!!
YUM YUM the fruit is just delicious.
WELL Deane Zach and Sam arrived home at 9.15pm! They had been stuck in traffic for nearly 3 hours and had been doing mercy missions with Shannon back and forward to the hospital helping two of the local friends that needed medical help. No gas connection so I made rice, peas (of course for me) and chicken casserole in the microwave) thankfully the power did not cut out.
