Well after a 17.5 hour flight to Doha, a 7 hour stopover and a 6.5 hour flight to Rome, we have made it!!!! Thankfully not too tired, we both had at least 8 hours sleep on the long flight and arriving in Rome we felt pretty OK considering!
Collected at the airport by our Rome.airporter driver, he had my name on a piece of paper and of course we asked for ID and I think he thought we were weird!!! 😏
dropped at the hotel, booked in and Deane did one of his famous in & out of the room in 5 seconds, Never judge a book by its over, eg: don't rely on the Internet photos!!!! So we canned the hotel, the receptionist was very helpful, not charging a cent and suggesting heading to the Spanish Steps in the centre of the City. Took a taxi to the Spanish steps got dropped off and then our search for a hotel began 🙃😳🙃 5 hotels later and we arrived pretty exhausted by this stage! Helpful and friendly hotel staff, good room in the middle of town and after a shower (33degrees) headed out for a "walk about and to stretch our legs! Didn't last too long to be honest, got a snack for dinner and bed!
