Came out yesterday, not too much got done, was huge thunder and lightening storm and it just rained and rained, thankfully Deane suggested we drive the van to the top of the hill before it had rained too much, otherwise it wouldve been no way we wouldve got out, so it would mean a night in the van in the village!
Our driver had to take a taxi back to Kampala for a meeting but assured us he would be back, 5pm he said he was on his way, but at 5.45pm we discovered he had got another job, higher paying and was still in Kampala! and had no intention of coming to pick us up
We made the decision for Deane to drive, the one day we hadnt bought his drivers license😬
We took Simon with us, becuase we were now going to be travelling through Friday night traffic, when there are heaps of traffic police and people around.
Made it home safely, our prayers were answered, there were no police stops and the traffic & people on the worst part of the road were non-existent.
We have moved house again this morning back to a hut at the African Biblie University which has just a double bed, shower and toilet. not sure how long we will stay here, its cheap and we have to go up to the mall for all our meals but its cheap, really just waiting for the house to be completed, whihc Burkina is still adamant will be before Wednesday, without sounding too sceptical, were not 100% convinced of this.
It is now 2pm as i write the roofers are working but are refusing to carry on without lunch, their boss that organises food has turned his phone off and so Deane & Alex have headed up to the trading centre to find them some lunch.
Pretty normal hear, if you dont want to be contacted you just turn the phone off, if you want to talk to someone you phone them and before they pick up you end the call. then the person you were calling thinks they should find out what you want, so they call you back and pay the charges 😀
