As we were talking over lunch with Allan Koki from the Romans Project, a friend of Allan's from Kenya drove up, we got talking and said we were heading to Nairobi on Monday. He then offered to arrange people from his Word of Life Church in Kenya to meet us at the airport with a van and they would also arrange bed and breakfast accommodation and take us there!
God is good, we have heard a few stories this week of recent attacks and robberies of tourists in Nairobi.
Also after travelling on Ugandan roads over the last 12 days, we decided to change our plans and get Stanley's family - the Seka's - to meet us in Nairobi. After many phone calls and texts, we were able to arrange a transfer of enough funds through Western Union to the Seka's do they could purchase bus tickets. They will travel on Monday 7th overnight bus arriving in Nairobi 8th January at 5am. We will meet them and will stay for the day and night in Nairobi, and organise bus tickets for the next day for us all to travel to Kisumu.
We are now being picked up by Ken from the Romans Project Kenya and he has arranged airport pickup and accommodation for us and the Seka's in Nairobi. His church also has a bookshop where we can purchase the Swahili bibles for the Seka family.
