Samfya - Guided Tour

Who better than Roger and Donald to give us a guided tour of Samfya and the Samfya Bible School. We had breakfast and met with Levy at the school at 8am (some of us had been up since 5.30am) We walked down to the school and met up with a few of the people that knew Donald and Roger, to whom we knew names of but had not met. We got a tour of the bible school and its buildings, gardens etc and then headed down to the markets at Samfya village. It is just a lovely location, right on the lake edge, looks so much like Lake Taupo, especially if you dont look at all the huts and run down buildings on the land!! Rather hot (in my skirt, (yuk i hate wearing skirts) seems western culture has hit Samfya and i dont think skirts are such a big deal anymore, trousers, jeans, short skirts and shorts, you name it, its here, guess church would be the only place a skirt is a must) walked through the markets and then back for the guys to meet with Levy and discuss some of the plans and ideas he hade put together for the proposed infrastructure changes for the bible school). I headed home and got a couple of things on the way for lunch, we had vege quiche and hot scones, funny but no recipe and they were the best scones Ive ever made, Deane suggested I chuck the recipe book away. Maria - Roger is doing an amazing job boiling the water, cooling it off and filling all the water bottles, morning and night!!!, he's on a mission. To buy water every day is rather expensive. Well Roger and Donald catching up on some sleep while I blog and Deane reads, very hot outside and the weekends planned schedule for church training has changed, it is no longer happening, seems someone double booked.
Agnes is away until Saturday night, so there is nothing much for me to do until she returns. We have Martha coming in daily to do a cleanup and wash our clothes, no washing machine here. Dont think it will take too long for the washing to dry.
