We gave up on the idea of the multi visa and decided the best course of action was to drive to Samfya via Serneje (a 8 hour drive) instead of the 4 hours through the Congo. I dont know what would have been worse the Congo border men or Crispens driving. It got a little bit hairy at one stage, especially when we got up to 150km!!! The roads were amazingly smooth, apart from the last 20kms to Samfya which was the worst.

We did travel through the swamp areas that were green and lush looking, they went for miles and every so often you would see people wandering, you just wonder what they do for a living and how do they live and survive in that place!
