Roof Progressing

Roger and Sherrilyn headed down to the markets at 8am, in the cool and a nice breeze off the lake. We didnt get too much but it was nice walk and by the time we returned it was scorching again. (about a 15 minute walk, depends how many people that know Roger stop and talk)

Deane and Donald attacked the maintenance on the school roof building, replacing perlon boards (25 metres long) and a piece of iron. The students children were all hanging around watching the progress, but they are so scared of the "Big Muzungu men"!!

Sherrilyn visited Agnes' pre-school and spent the morning in the village with Agnes looking around and talking.

Lunch and Siesta, everything stops for a couple of hours, so we too are making the most of it. I'm trying to encuorage the guys for us to go down to the beach and swim in this time, its just so hot inside the house we are staying in at this time of the day (they are so hot and exhausted from being in the sun they are not too bothered about going too far in this time)

Donald met with the school teachers, Deane met with the workers and Sherrilyn had her daily study time with the women at the school (It is so good, they are starting to get friendly and cheeky and asking lots of questions, most days it is lasting 2hours) I bought them a chubba chub each, it caused quite a bit of havoc, some of the mothers gave them to their children to keep them quiet - the kids ran outside and all of a sudden I had 16 children wanting a lollipop and i only had 12 left, kids were crying cos they missed out, one boy kept snatching the lollipop from a little girl, she would scream and then snatch it back (this happened 3 times). In the end I had to get Agnes to interpret and hand over some money for one of the older children to go and get the extra 4 needed!!

ROGER - hmmm............. not quite sure where he was at this stage!!!
