Remember our friends in the village Richard Florence and family. Richard works for Deane on the Luweero property and Florence had baby Maria and was taken at midnight with the baby on the back of the bicycle to the trading centre dr and nearly died. We then took her to the dr at Wobulenzi and she was diagnosed with malaria, infection from birth two months before and severe dehydration. The NZ Mission team raised funds and wanted a project so we suggested a new roof for their house

Progress along the way, with all the onlookers and baby Maria sleeping. Deane and Daniel had measured up for the iron before the team arrived and then on the morning we all went to put the roof on, Richard and his friends had removed the entire roof and ALL the rafters, so a whole new style was built - African/NZ style!!!
There was then 15 iron sheets left over so the team donated them to Richard and his family. He has since sold them and put the cash towards purchasing the piece of land next to his house. The house has a long leantoo and instead of parking the family motorcar (not) in there they are going to frame and enclose the walls with mud for a larger home!

They were so excited and appreciative, the warmth and dryness will really be noticed especially as it is now the rainy season.
