Meet Promise from Nigeria, he has been in Sicily for some years, hasnt had a proper meal for over 8 months!
Promise was in a camp but because of a change in rules he had to leave, he has no documents-they got lost, no home-sleeps on the streets, no food-he begs and scrounges through the rubbish bins.
He came into the Centre with his friend Temple that came with his friend Nature. Promise comes back 2 or 3 times a week now ... the Africans love 2 minute noodles .... so we have given him some & they love maderia cake. On Tuesday Sherilyn went down to the African restaurant and bought him a meal - African rice, beans, meat and sauces! He was so grateful.
Yesterday Promise cam back to the centre with the new jeans he got from the used clothing we were given .... he's so skinny and unwell...the pants were sooo baggy ... he needs a belt - Deane found one to give to him next time we see him!
All he wants .... is to go home to Nigeria and his family .... but he cant, no money & no documents or Nigerian passport - and where do you get one of those in Sicily!?!
