Ministry Centre - logo change coming

For some of you that we have already shared our new Centre logo with, we have to explain why we are changing it...

Today as we went to the printers to get the "Get Connected" Centre sign and brochures finalised we received an email from the local Newspaper about a Police raid & arrests of gang ring bust in Ballaro of young Nigerians being forced into prostitution in "connection houses" of all names!! (this is 2 mins walk from our home & 5 mins from the centre where we will be meeting all the Africans for ministry)

We definitely don't want to have a similar name as a crime ring operating nearby!

Deane has already met with some African men & for the next few weeks we have some different hours to fit around various things that are happening for us here in Palermo.

We will start a Womens group in September to coincide with the return of the childrens ministry after summer holiday break.

We are waiting for the Sign to go up and our cards to be printed so we can start talking and inviting people on the street to come visit us.

Deane was able to purchase some good resources locally and was given a connection for a christian publishing company in Poland called www.LifeWords.Global and they sent 200 free english tracts!

TRANSPORT sorted !! .....

Great to finally have got some transport, we are just about over public transport especially now its officially summer holidays with lots of people travelling on buses & also the "heatwave" we are currently experiencing!

Bivona sourced the bike for us through his motorbike shop and is doing a full service & few minor repairs so that we are safe on the roads!!

Weren't able to get Deane's dream Italian motorbike, the Piaggio Vespa but this is a good deal for us to get around locally!

While 1 gets an easy ride - the other 1 gets the hard ride!!!

Fun week with our Swedish family Visiting

This is the most amazing Gelato ever, only available in Sicily and a meal in itself. 1, 2 or 3 flavours of Gelato in a brioche bun, covered with runny hot chocolate (white, milk or dark) cream AND if that's not enough, they put a mini cone in it as well!
