Here in Sicily when you get an unfurnished apartment the only thing you get is a completed and working bathroom, no curtains, light fittings or even a kitchen!! that's right, NO KITCHEN, only the plumbing sticking out of the wall! No light fittings, just the wires hanging out of the ceiling.
We visited a store looking for a new kitchen for one of the apartments we thought of renting, but what a hassle - that means fridge/freezer, sink, cupboards drawers etc (as many or as little as you want)
What a blessing we found a FURNISHED apartment! The only thing missing was a bed and our friend Roberto & Lucia were so generous, the day before we moved our things to the apartment, they had a brand new bed (including mattress & pillows) delivered!!!
Below are some pictures - we are on the corner of the 5th floor so have a couple of different views - getting used to city noise after farm living! lovely to look out the living room and office windows to see the view of church domes & some greenery (even a jacaranda tree - R that will make you smile, we know how you love these purple trees!! :-) )
