Ministry Centre - Starts 15 June

You wont believe it ......... after Deane had spent hours researching & surfing on the net (his favourite pasttime...not!) for rooms to rent, we went for a walk around the area of our apartment. We saw this sign "AFFITTO" means to rent and were writing down the number when the owner and his father came along and started unlocking it.

Over Google translate we managed to get our  conversation  going and Bivona the owner was very keen and interested to help us and the African migrants/refugees by allowing us to rent the room, not just a single room but a double room with great street frontage & appeal - he told us his price, Deane said it was a little high, so he dropped it by €100 straight away!

We made an appointment to go back with JD so they could negotiate a deal in Italian.    When we went back, Bivona reduced the rent by another €50 and we are in the process of completing the paperwork!

It will take a few weeks to get things sorted, furniture and pamplets printed, times organised (we are going to start slowly) etc.  We have already had a request from a ministry to share the cost to use the building at times we wont be using it!!

AND there is an African Childrens Ministry down the road looking for more children, which has given us the opportunity to start a Women's Ministry for the mums while the children are looked after!

Thankful for NZ Visitors

Great to have our good friend Jen Harvey with us from Auckland and her friend Kaya. Was lots of fun, laughter & a huge blessing to us.   It was fun to do some sightseeing, swimming and of course far too much eating!
Our New Apartment

We moved into our apartment 3 days before our visitors arrived, so only just got everything unpacked & sorted.

Had to shop for 2 days just to get the kitchen basics and linen!

Getting to know some of the African men & women that attend the Italian Church we go to each Sunday.

You can see by the style of the earphones that we are in the ENGLISH section of the church.

We are learning how to sing songs we know in Italian, it actually is great for our language learning as we are getting to know how they pronounce letters and vowels!

We enjoy the Church, teaching is great and everyone is so friendly - it only takes 2 buses to get there and 1 to get home - plus a bit of walking, dont ever take your car for granted and the ease it is to get you anywhere!!!
