We took the train from Warsaw to Sopot arriving around 4.30pm, just in time to get the keys for our accomodation sorted and have a look around before heading to Gdynia to meet the ferry from Karlskrona, bringing Sam, Bella and Kaela from Sweden πππ
Of course it was great to see them, and it didn't take Kaela too long to warm to us, great that we have been video whatsapping which helped her to recognise us and our voices even though it was nearly a year since they left NZ.
Back to the apartment, which was on a noisy busy main road and had no air conditioning as Poland not used to such hot weather!
Waiting for Zach to arrive, he wasn’t there by 12.30am so we went to find some wifi in town only to get a message from Zach to say he had missed his planeππ
All very disappointed but we did have a great holiday at the beach for 4 days, swimming came to an end though when the Polish authorities closed the beaches in Sopot because of a bacteria contamination!!! Not used to the heat!!!
A 10 hour ferry ride from Gdynia across the Baltic Sea and we arrived in Karlskrona where we will stay and look around for 5 days. So different in summer compared to February 2017 when it was covered with 1 metre of snow ⛄️❄️ ππ
Great to have time with the family, very hot weather and enjoying some lovely scenery and beaches, although no waves here in Europe like our great Ocean Beach at home in Hawkes Bay!
Great to see Bellas family again - we are having a traditional Swedish “catch a crayfish ” evening !!
