Athens Refugees #3

Friday today, last day here in Athens - we stayed an extra night so that we could meet with another organisation today.

The organisation we met with today works with refugees from Afghanistan and Iran.  Originally setup for distribution of food and clothing, again the needs were so great that it was unsustainable to continue.  they changed their method and invited "by ticket" 150 people each day for three days a week to come regularly, so they could get to know them by name and build relationships with them so they could share and encourage them.

A large number of refugees have their documentation and been given somewhere to live but they still have great needs and find it very hard having come on a difficult journey to get here, with much trauma and death of loved ones along the way.

A new centre has been purchased and they are able to run studies, language lessons, craft and many others things to assist them in whatever way possible.

This organisation is also doing a great job, loving sharing and caring for these Afghan/Iranian refugees.
