Life's too short for a lazy-boy

Back home in NZ, you'll have absolutely no idea what the title of this post means...... but to the USA team that we met in Palermo on Sunday morning..... They will know!!!! 😊 a bit of an explanation below.........

We were picked up on Sunday am by JD, our SIM contact here in Palermo ready to meet & connect with a Mission team from Oklahoma USA - here in Sicily on a prayer journey, walking the streets of Palermo  praying for Gods direction for a minitsry to be based here in the future.  we met at their guesthouse and they were so welcoming and inviting, we all introduced ourselves and then JD  gave us all an overview of Sicilian history, politics, religion, culture, migrants, and the church in Italy today - heaps of very useful and interesting information!!

After a couple of hours Shane asked Deane how they could pray for us, they asked about our lives and wanted to hear the journey we had been on...... Deane told them our story, how we got involved in missions after a life of having most of the "material blessings" we could want and yet the contentment wasn't there - most of you already know our journey from 2007 onwards 😊

Deane then said the last thing he wanted was to retire and be sitting in front of the TV in his lazy boy.......you have no idea how that impacted them - they were blown away & in tears as it somehow "connected" with them, their lives and church back home in America!!

We met some amazing people - we then had a time of prayer, they prayed for us and it was like nothing we had ever experienced before, but they truly blessed us with so many words of encouragement and reminded us to continue telling people of our journey, as that was a great testimony & impactful!!

Really excited to hear from these guys as to what their plans are going forward and see what happens in the future for John & Rita, a young couple our age 😋 Seeking Gods direction in their lives!!!
