Ray's grandfather was a missionary in Kenya in 1911, his father was a missionary after that,
Ray was born in Kenya and went to an International Boarding School in Kenya
Ray met Jill in the USA on one of his home assignment and told her all he was ever going to do was missions work so she agreed, they married 6 months later and within a month they were living on the missionfield in Kenya - that was 45 years ago - they spent 42 years in Kenya, speak Swahili fluently and for the last 3 years have been in South Sudan.
In Uganda after a 6 month home assignment, they left today, their Prado packed to the gunnels with gear for South Sudan. first stop was 7 hours away in Gulu and then crossing the border into South Sudan tomorow.
Ray is now 70 years old and this may be their last 2 year stint before possible retirement, amazing faithful and encouraging couple, may God continue to bless them and keep them safe.
