We had fresh fruit & omletes on the verandah at the guesthouse looking out to Lake Victoria, very clear sky and great view, while we waited for Alex & Simon to arrive for the day
we thought they were joking when they said they would leave Lungala at 6am!!! and it would take 2 or 3 hours to get to Entebbe. Well they actually left at 7am, unable to get a boda to the main road they walked until they could get a taxi - this was their first delay, then they got stuck in 2 JAMS in traffic and finally arrived at Entebbe 12.05pm - 5 hours after they left home 😱😁😱😁😱. !!!
We met them at the Lake Victoria Hotel for a relaxing day at the pool, they were so hungry that we started with lunch and then spent the rest if the day swimming and lazying around. They were heaps of people at the pool, a very deep pool with 3 tier diving board, so there was loads of fun with the locals jumping, swimming, coaching and diving.
Deane convinced him he would be fine and not drown and he would jump in and save him, but oh no Alex wasnt having any of that, so I went and jumped off with him
Deane then convinced him to go to the 2nd level, took nearly 2 or 3 hours for Deane Alex to jump - Deane even took him to 3rd level to make him see how high it was, so that when he went back to the 2nd level he could feel it wasnt so high and was achievable!!
Alex loves the water and hardly got out of the pool all afternoon, we had to pull him out at 6pm for dinner
Simon gets in but isnt bothered with swimming, he has real trouble with water affecting his ears and nose, so its no so enjoyable, he loves to sit on the side of the pool and give instructions though! 😀!
We finished off with dinner at the restaurant and got a taxi from the hotel to the guesthouse, not taking any risks on boda bodas in the dark!
thankfully at the beginning of the day Deane had arranged for a room so Alex & Simon could stay at the guesthouse too, we sat around talking before we headed to bed.
(last time we said goodbye was at 10pm as they boarded a bus from Mombassa to Kampala which wasnt much fun, easier to say goodbye in the daylight!)
