Welcome to anyone who is visiting our blog for the first time.... brief background......
We lived between Mukono and Kubamitwe village, Luwero, Uganda for the year in 2008 with our 3 teenage (at the time) kids
We helped move a Ministry from suburbia to the jungle. Deane oversaw the project of relocation, clearing of the jungle for boundary fence (around 100 acres) the building of a 400m2 house and many other things.
We lived in a mud hut, with no running water or electricity. We had enormous opportunities to help and encourage many people and the great privilege to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through bible studies and prayer time with many local village people, some of whom we remain in contact with and look forward to seeing soon :-)
We met two orphaned young men Alex & Simon, who became part of our family over that year.
We have since, with the help of some of our generous friends, put Alex & Simon through the last 2 years of High School, and through a 3 year Degree in Theology at Westminster Seminary, Kampala
Alex and Simon are currently volunteering (again with financial support) with a Ministry called Proclaim Africa and working with a project called The Romans Project

It has always been our desire to assist with education and ministry opportunities & now the time has come for Alex & Simon to become self sufficient. Again with the very generous support of many of our friends we have raised funds to buy some land in Uganda for them - to build a simple home and plant some crops so Alex & Simon will be self sufficient off the land and at the same time remain in voluntary Ministry.
