Leaving Samfya Today

We have had very hot weather this week so a couple of trips to the beach to swim, but after meeting a man in the markets yesterday who was going to his newphews funeral (he'd been eaten by a crocodile) yesterday we swam rather close to the water edge!!!

A few hours in the office this week. Deane and I were invivted to the Tembo's for dinner on Tuesday night, a lady I have met and got to know well here in Samfya. The family goes to the English speaking church and is very involved with the local church ministry. She has been interpreting for me for some of the womens study sessions.

Out for dinner last nigiht to Mark and Carmen Brubacher, a young couple working here with SCCP (Samfya Community Care Providers) also Jude Goatley from NZ was there and 2 interns that are here to work with the SCCP project for 1 year. .

Well the time has come to move on from Samfya. After a quiet week, extremely hot, little power and no water for the last 2 days we are packing up to day to move on to Sernji for a weekend of discipleship and training.

Thankfully the Brubachers are kindly lending us their vehicle to travel to the village for the weekend and then on down to Lusaka on Sunday. We are hoping to leave after church on Sunday and apparently it will take around 5 - 6 hours to drive to Lusaka. We will stay overnigiht in Lusaka and then catch a bus from Lusaka to Livingstone, which is apparently another 6 hours, so we will just hang out there overnight.
