Botswana - Chobe National Game Park

Well an early start, up at 5.30am and grabbed some tea and toast from the kitchen before we got picked up at 7.15m for the day trip to Chobe Park, Botswana.

We did the 5 minute boat ride, a 5 minute safari vehicle ride to the Botswana border and did border control before heading for the Chobe Game Park. There were 50 - 100 trucks lined up on each side of the border waiting to do documentation and being barged across the Zambezi River - one truck at a time each way and they could sit in their trucks for days waiting for the paperwork and crossing to happen.

Got on the boat and we headed down the river between Botswana and Namibia on a 3 hour cruise. Saw a few elephants, crocs, hippos and water buffalo, few birds but nothing like Murchison National Park in Uganda.

Lunch at the Safari Lodge and then off on 2 hour safari through the game park, very few animals, although loads of elephants and water buffalo.

Headed back over the border and arrived back at the guesthouse by 6pm.

Back to the market for a few last minute things and then we headed off to the restaurant across the road for fish and chips, calamari YUM YUM!!!

Trying to stay up late tonight to get a good sleep before the big flight home starts tomorrorw. Its far too hot, so just heading off now for a swim to cool down before bed.
