Baby Maria arrives

Richard (one of Deanes regular workers) at the village wife had her baby late last week, in the mud hut on her own!!!! We visited and took her Matoki dinner and tomorrow when we go we have a few baby clothes to give to her. A little girl so we will go visit and get to hold the baby this time. They already have 3 children and when we visited her, she was on a wooden bed resting with the baby lying behind her (she had an extremely high temperature), the kids running around, and the chooks and chickens at the other end of the room!!!

We talked with her for short time and asked the name of the baby, they didnt have one so we said Sherrilyn (too hard for them to get out tho) anyway we had Maria from California with us and we said Maria, so she named the baby Maria (I have photos Maria but just waiting for internet to be working quicker!!!) I will post soon.

The other children Ogooma, Lucy and Dolica are all cute kids and have been spending lots of time back and forward at our place. I have been taking them a meal every second day and trying to help out anyway possible, they loved the clothes but I guess they are highly impractical when the baby doesnt wear nappies, she really only wears a singlet to the waist so that they dont get wet every time.

Florence is allowed 3 months rest with light duties before she starts back into normal village life. Ogooma is out of school for a while and helping his mother by carrying around the youngest on his back. Dolica was sick recently for 2 weeks and got out of the habit of walking so is now having to learn to walk all over again.
