I am finding the kids are learning the Luganda language very quickly. Most school days the village kids are home around 1.30 so our kids hang out, do some jobs and some reading for the morning and then they are off after lunch to visit their friends and “hang out village style” until around 6.30pm. Sometimes I get in the vehicle to get water and find large groups of people working around, always in the middle of the group are Zach and Sam!!!
They took their friend Jerome up to the dr’s the other day – two days in a row actually – he needed some shots for a tic he had in the ear! Just a 40minute walk up to the trading centre!!!
The next day they visited their friends at the mini village and had spent the afternoon helping thrashing the beans from the vines!!! They are learning things that they will probably never use again but I think it is helping them with friendships and acceptance in the village and also gives them a great opportunity to learn the language too.
