The first day we arrived I held on for 3 ½ hours before even going near the inside of the long drop. Alex had cemented a wall around it and put up a door so that it was private for us girls, one day Bri was using the loo and stood up, leaned on the wall and it gave way and feel down.
It is ok early in the morning, after its rained or late at night, but any other time during the heat of the day, its GROSS. You have to push the nail on the cover off with your foot (I guess at least there’s a nail and you don’t have to touch it with your hands) and in the middle of the day stand back and wait for the 5,000 (slight exaggeration but it feels like that many!) flies to get out of the way. The hole is SO deep I often think how scary it would be if you slipped and your foot went down, although the hole is not big enough for you to fall down it certainly would give you a huge fright. Then you have to remember at night to take in the toilet paper so that if it rains you don’t waste a roll, I think so far we have forgotten and wasted 4 rolls of paper.
